Meet the Tribe is an ongoing blog series where you’ll meet women who are leaders in their community and here at YogaClub. Our ambassadors, or Tribe Leaders as we call them, are fitness instructors, wellness professionals and just plain awesome women.
Some people are just born with ambition, and this Tribe Leader is no exception! Based out of Nashville, Tennessee, she has found her place in the world as a work-life balance coach, yoga instructor, and motivational speaker. Her ultimate message in her career is to teach others the importance of balance and self care, and she has been so successful that Money Inc. listed her as one of Tennessee’s Women Entrepreneurs! Not only is her career admirable, but so is the way she leads by example.
Meet Lauren Zoeller.
Q: Let’s talk overall wellness. How do you integrate healthy eating and mindfulness into your daily life?
A: Healthy eating and mindfulness are non-negotiables for me. I practice mindfulness throughout the day by setting a timer on my phone that goes off every hour. The reminder says, “I choose to see this moment from a place of love”. This practice keeps me grounded in staying in the present moment. I also believe that the act of eating should be sacred. I pick one meal a day where I prepare my food and eat without any distractions. This allows me time to practice healthy eating and mindfulness together. The best part? You become more aware of what food does to your body! You are less bloated and you have time to actually enjoy the fuel you are giving yourself.
Q: What advice can you give to someone looking to begin their fitness or wellness journey?
A: All you need to do it begin. Just start, even if it is two minutes a day. It is very easy to become overwhelmed when you start something new. Also, get a life coach! Life coaches have a plethora of tools for success and they will also keep you accountable to reaching your goals.
Q: What does being a Tribe Leader mean to you?
A: It means being an example of balance and love. There are several people out there today who wear gorgeous yoga clothing on social media, pose for pictures and call themselves a “yogi,” but they do not practice self care, compassion and love for others. Being a Tribe Leader, to me, means yes...wearing the yoga outfit, but also being an example of what is looks like to LIVE your yoga both on and off the mat.
Q: How do you maintain balance?
A: I always begin my day with my morning routine. I start with a 20 minute meditation, followed by 10 sun salutations and 45 minutes of morning pages and reading. I truly believe that balance is the difference between things we NEED to do and things we WANT to do. In my time journaling, after morning pages, I take a look at my day and categorize each task into a NEED and WANT column. From there, I make sure that each column is balanced.
Q: What are your favorite wellness tips?
- Take time for yourself, always. I am a firm believer that you cannot pour from an empty cup.
-
When you take the time to practice self care, you can show up fully for yourself and the ones you love.
3. Establish a morning routine for yourself that includes yoga, meditation and journaling. It will change your life.
4. Yoga and meditation are the keys to happiness and a life of abundance.
5. The lotus flower blooms out of mud. Think of your life in the same way. Radical change takes patience and persistence. When you begin the process, it is going to get really muddy and hard. Hang in there, BEAUTY is on the way.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about YogaClub?
A: I love that YogaClub gives a yoga class to a child in need every time someone purchases a box. I also love that YogaClub gets me! I swear, every outfit they send me is perfectly curated with my style. I have had several subscription services and the stylists at YogaClub are spot on every time!
Q: What motivates you?
A: Helping others. My life work as a coach is to show others that they can achieve anything they set their mind to. I believe that true work-life balance is possible and that everyone has it within them to live the life of their dreams. Seeing people realize that for the first time lights me up and motivates me to want to share that with every person I can.
Q: Alright, let’s mix it up with some fun, quick fire questions. Do you have a quote or mantra that inspires you?
A: “I am love. Everything in me and outside of me is love. Today I choose to repeat this, believe this, and commit to this. I am love. Anything else I have chosen to believe is FEAR (false evidence appearing real). What I choose to see as real today is love and only love. I am love” ― Gabrielle Bernstein
Q: Favorite yoga pose?
A: Supta Baddha Konasana
Q: High waisted leggings: yes or no?
A: YES, YES. YES! They are my favorite
Q:Current obsession?
