Meet the Tribe is an ongoing blog series where you’ll meet women who are leaders in their community and here at YogaClub. Our ambassadors, or Tribe Leaders as we call them, are fitness instructors, wellness professionals and just plain awesome women.
This Tribe Leader transcended her love for movement when she discovered yoga’s powers to help with anxiety and keep the mind, body and spirit healthy. Over the years, she has taken this love to new heights by receiving her 200 hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training, then later creating her own business, SavaYoga — a yoga business that offers special events, workshops and retreats in her hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She truly believes that yoga is for every “body” and brings this mantra into fruition by teaching yoga full-time at various yoga studios, gyms, senior living centers and small businesses.
Meet Alexandra Padilla.
Q: Let’s talk overall wellness. How do you maintain balance?
A: Everything in moderation! I honor my body’s needs. Sometimes that means eating healthy, sometimes that means feeding my soul with sweets. I try to maintain a routine each week and write goals for each week. In my goals, I even make sure to write down something that feeds my soul, i.e. getting out with friends, dancing, hiking, or some other fun activity. It is important to maintain a balance between work and fun. I try to give myself at least one day of full rest apart from yoga and work. Meditation and maintaining my own yoga practice also helps me find balance in my life!
Q: What motivates you?
A: I truly believe that yoga is for everybody and until we have brought yoga to every single person, our jobs as yoga instructors are not complete. I am motivated by the healing aspect of yoga which healed my own life and therefore strive to bring people the same light and hope that yoga has brought me. I am also motivated by my students, friends, and family.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about YogaClub?
A: My favorite thing is never having to worry about my “work” outfit (yoga clothes). I get a perfect outfit every month delivered straight to my door. It makes life easier, because I no longer have to worry about finding well-made, affordable yoga clothes (which is often almost impossible). YogaClub offers great yoga brands at a budget-friendly price. Most of the brands YogaClub offers, I would not be able to afford without the membership.
Q: What are your favorite wellness tips?
- Stay hydrated!!
- Listen to your body. Know what “diet” or foods make it happy and what foods don’t agree with it. There is never a “diet” that fits everybody. You must find what works for you! Get enough sleep, listen to your body when it’s tired.
- Get out and move. This might be yoga, running, walking, or dancing. Find what moves you. Also, listen to your body when it comes to exercise. Lean and breathe into discomfort, but once there is pain stop! So many people injure themselves by pushing past their edge.
- Do things that feed your passion and soul. Wellness is not only about your “fitness” journey. It’s not only about feeding your body with wellness and nutrition, it is about feeding your mind with positivity as well!
Q: What does being a Tribe Leader mean to you?
A: It means I get to have the honor and privilege of sharing the amazing brands and inspiration that YogaClub gives it members. It's about inspiring and being inspired by the YogaClub community. I love being part of this community and have met so many people around the world because of YogaClub.
Q: Alright, let’s mix it up with some fun, quick fire questions. Do you have a quote or mantra that inspires you?
A: I am enough. I do enough. I am more than enough.

Q: Favorite guilty pleasure?
