Toxic energy is often the result of toxic relationships. And, while purging a noxious person from your life certainly takes a toll on your emotions, it's not the end all be all in your existence. If you think about it, breaking up with a person who clutters your life with negativity can be a stepping stone to finding that inner peace you need to unearth a relationship that will bring you balance and harmony.
The first step in recovering from any breakup is getting emotionally stable. And, one of the easiest ways to do this is with yoga.
Breathe
The first thing to come to terms with is the deafening silence that exists when there's no one to fight with. It can be downright scary—especially if you are used to chaos and turmoil.
But, if you redirect your energy and learn to breathe, you will find that the silence is just a time for you to unblock your mind and free yourself from the negativity you were surrounded by.
The simplest breathing technique, The Three-Part Breath or The Complete Breath, is one of the best ways to cope with the anger and frustration you may have regarding your ex.
Just sit tall and take in a deep breath. Let it rise through your rib cage and into your throat. Then, slowly exhale. As you exhale, release all the anger, negative energy, and frustration from your body and your mind.
When you learn to breathe through that anger and frustration, you are setting yourself to achieve the inner balance that is necessary for moving forward.
Reenergize
There's no better time to reconnect with yourself than after a breakup. One of the biggest reasons relationships take a turn for the worse is because one or both people involved have forgotten how important inner balance is. You become too interconnected and lack the necessary focus on keeping yourself happy and balanced.
Yoga, at its core, is about strengthening the union you have with yourself. When you feel strongly connected to yourself, you radiate positive energy. A stronger, more self-aware person is one who will flourish in future relationships. So, use your breakup as motivation to reenergize yourself, and it will set you up for success in future relationships.
Pose
With your mind on the path to healing, your body should be your next area of focus. Two poses that are excellent for finding that internal stability are cobbler's pose and inversions.
Cobbler’s pose is very beneficial in helping to decrease stress. The pose releases endorphins which are known to make you feel good about yourself. When you feel good about yourself, you will naturally recover from those physical ailments of heartbreak.
Inversions are meant to help you see things from a new perspective. This is especially important after a breakup because you need to begin to feel comfortable with the new path your life will take. Inversions help to open your mind, and they are an excellent way to help you work through that uncertainty that you are feeling.
Move Forward
Breakups drain you emotionally and physically. There's no way around that. They are taxing on your mind and your body. But, they are not the end all be all of your existence. And, you can recover, you can move forward, and you will find love.
The biggest and most important part of getting over that lost love is learning from it. That is easy to do when you practice yoga. Just remember, first you have to breathe to release the negativity from your body. Then, reenergize by thinking about yourself. Lastly, practice the yoga poses that help your body rid itself of physical symptoms of stress and tension. Before you know it, you will be balanced and at peace. With your mind and body in a state of harmony, you will find out what real love is.
