Free People has been providing us with on-point clothing and accessories that speaks to our inner free-spirited flower child for yeeears. But, relatively recently, they dipped their toes in the athleisure scene and have been blessing us with trendy workout attire ever since.

Q: How long has Free People been around?

A: Free People has been gracing us with beautiful contemporary clothing since the 70’s, but they launched their line of activewear called FP Movement in 2012.

Q: What was the vision behind the company?

A: Free People originally launched with the vision of giving young people freedom in their shopping experience. They wanted their clothes to cater to the intelligent and creative individual while maintaining high quality and affordability. But, Free People knows that their free-spirited clientele are also in touch with their health. So, they launched an activewear line to expand on their lifestyle brand with the goal of outfitting their customers for every aspect of life.

Q: Where are they from?

A: Free People was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where their headquarters still stands today.

Q: Why do we love them at YogaClub?

A: We love Free People’s FP Movement because it emphasizes serious style while still maintaining performance! And, not to mention, the FP Movement caters to the feminine and the tomboy, the beach bum and the girly. No matter what style you look for in your athleisure clothing, Free People has a pair of fashionable leggings and a trendy sports bra for every interest.

Q: What types of activities are their clothes best for?

A: The FP movement originally launched in 2012 with activewear intended for yoga, dancing, surfing and running. But, Free People knows that girls are tough and their clothing needs to keep up with their workouts! So, they have also created clothing that can withstand more intense workouts like kickboxing, cycling and crossfit.

Stay tuned for upcoming brand features on the activewear companies we choose to partner with! If you have questions you'd like answered in a future "meet the brands" post, just let us know!
