When we begin a New Year, we like to start with a clean slate. Begin with a list of ideas and ideals to bring us closer to our aspirations. There is something about that holiday break of excess and comfort that signals the end of one year and heralds the new.
Once we have had that break, we see things anew. Our bodies have relaxed and so have our minds. Priorities lost, come back into focus!
That’s a good thing, right? Sometimes we need a bit of help aka, inspiration larger than ourselves.
We need inspiration and motivation
However, 70% of people who start a fitness plan quit. Ever think of posting quotes to help you keep motivated?
Quotes have been a popular trend in the past few years. They are posted abundantly on social media — Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. Quotes are one of the largest categories on Pinterest.
Here are a few of my fav workout motivational quotes:
Inspirational and motivational quotes are the most popular.
Why? Our goals are not easy and most often, they fall by the wayside as the new year wanes. A quote print in your home, workout room, office is a constant reminder and inspiration for a better life. Quotes can be displayed on your phone lock screen, your computer, or even on your coffee mug!
In our busy lives, we need a nudge and some positive encouragement to stay focused, well and believe in our dreams.
Top Goals~ Healthy lifestyle #1
Everyone needs refreshment for their bodies, minds and spirit. I think the most common post- holiday goals are the ones related to a healthier lifestyle. It could be a pledge to eat better or exercise more. Most people are concerned about their body for health or weight issues. Getting back on track can be tough.
- People aspire to be better in the New Year.
- Better than last year.
- Better shape.
- Better relationships.
- Better job.
- Better skin.
- Better home.
- Better workout.
- Better clothes.
- The list goes on. (Add yours below!)
There are lofty intangible goals too.
- More spiritual growth.
- More personal time.
- More creativity.
- More connection with family.
- More time in nature.
- More happiness.
People aspire to be better in the New Year. Better than last year. Better shape. Better relationships. Better job. Better shape.
The lists go on, but there is always a quote to inspire you. A better you and a better life. If this sounds self-centered, then remember that in order to help others, you must be happy first. Remember to take care of yourself this year so that you can be a better you :).
Even the Dalai Lama puts happiness and laughter at the top of his list! Let his quote motivate you.
“Happiness is the highest form of health." ~ The Dalai Lama
